Fitness Park

The Body Pump class on Monday, taught by Joel, is by far my favourite class here. Joel has a calm and relaxed demeanour and makes the class fun with his infectious smile. He is knowledgeable and kind, giving corrections when needed. You can tell that he enjoys teaching this class, and this enjoyment is passed onto his students. I have recently moved out of Cannes, to Antibes, but will happily make the trip on the train each Monday to make Joel's Pump class

As a frequent visitor in Cannes, this gym is conveniently located right in the centre. Unfortunately it is its only redeeming feature. The gym is small ( understandably with the price of real estate in Cannes centre) and overcrowded, the patrons do not wipe down equipment, some forego the use of towels, and apparently do not understand the simple concept even a 3 year old can grasp, that a 20kg dumbbell goes in the rack under the number “20”. The bumper plates are in desperate need of being replaced and the equipment, mostly Life Fitness is old, but most importantly not maintained, the same pieces are constantly out of order and not fixed for months at a time ( the main door was out of order for 2-3 months?). I find it shocking that the Fitness Park franchise does not make the owners uphold the brand standards and provide a decent environment and quality for a gym in the centre of posh and touristy Cannes, soiling the Fitness Park reputation. Save yourself frustration and probably avoid a few communicable diseases by going down the road to Basic Fit.

All photos taken on 28/11/23 : Broken equipment is never fixed! 3/6 broken running machines, bad maintenance, the urinals in the changing room are broken and never fixed. Leaving only one bathroom shared for all the men. The showers do not all have locks on the doors. Sometimes the water is cold if you go when it is busy because the boiler is small. I have been a longtime member of this gym for almost 7 years, even before when it was Fitlane. Since changing hands from Fitlane to Fitness Park, I have seen a slow yet obvious degradation in the maintenance of the gym equipment. I’ve taken some photos to show where some of the issues are and I would like management to respond to this and answer why nothing is being done about these broken items. Why have they been broken for days weeks, and some of them even months with no improvement? I am sure the response will be to deny and not take accountability, so that is why I added the photos as proof of my statement. Sadly now it has got to the point that I will leave my membership and move to Basic Fit, it is just down the road, it is bigger, with more of all machines, is just as cheap and much better quality with better equipment that is maintained. It is clear, and management should agree that customers are not getting the same experience of the gym that we were even just 1 year ago.

I required a short term Gym Membership whilst staying in Cannes and was recommended to check out FP. I booked on the website which caused some confusion as there is no real way to book without commitment on the site. Luckily the staff were very helpful and managed to swap me over to the correct membership! Make sure you go to the gym to register for short term to save the same confusion. The gym overall is very busy so best to go during the day. I found around 12 was a good time. Equipment was all there for my needs.
